Getting seen
Can I get an emergency dental appointment today in Lithia Springs?
Yes, if you call during office hours. Same-day care is the purpose of this office. Call first rather than driving over, because we hold chairs by phone and don't accept walk-ins; the same-day dentist page explains why that gets you seen faster, not slower.
Why don't you take walk-ins?
Because a held time means a room and the X-ray unit are ready when you arrive, and because the phone call lets us ask what's wrong before you leave the house. Someone with a knocked-out tooth needs to be seen immediately; someone with a chipped edge can be given the next comfortable slot. Neither is served by a waiting room.
What if I need you on a Saturday or Sunday?
The office is closed on weekends. The phone isn't: a real person answers, takes your details, and holds you the first Monday chair at 8:00 AM. The weekend and after-hours page covers what helps in the meantime and which symptoms should send you to an ER instead.
Are you a 24-hour dentist?
No, and no dental office honestly is. Our phone is answered 24 hours a day by a live person; our chairs run Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Anyone advertising a 24-hour dental office is usually advertising a phone line, same as us.
Do you see children?
Yes, for dental emergencies: a knocked-out or loosened tooth, a toothache, a broken tooth from a fall. Call (770) 802-2220 and tell the front desk your child's age and what happened. A parent or guardian comes to the visit.
What counts as an emergency
What is a dental emergency?
Anything that's causing pain you can't control, bleeding that won't stop, swelling, or a tooth that's broken, loose or out. Also anything that will get worse fast if it waits, such as a lost crown over a sensitive tooth. If you're unsure, call; the front desk hears these questions all day and won't make you feel foolish.
Should I go to the ER or the dentist for tooth pain?
The dentist, unless the pain comes with swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, a high fever, uncontrolled bleeding, or a facial injury. ERs treat the dangerous complications and then refer you to a dentist for the tooth; our post on whether the ER can pull a tooth explains what each can do.
My tooth hurt for a week and now it doesn't. Am I fine?
Probably not. A toothache that stops on its own is sometimes a nerve that has died, and the infection at the root continues quietly. Get it checked; a toothache workup in the quiet phase is a much simpler visit than the one after the abscess forms.
How urgent is a knocked-out tooth?
Extremely. An adult tooth replanted within about an hour has a real chance of surviving; after a couple of hours dry, that chance falls fast. Put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in milk, and call while you head over. The knocked-out tooth page has the full steps.
Cost and insurance
How much does an emergency dental visit cost?
The exam and X-rays are $89. After that, our dentist gives you a written price for the recommended treatment, and nothing begins until you approve it. There's no emergency surcharge for same-day care. The cost and insurance page walks through the whole process.
Why won't you quote a treatment price over the phone?
Because a guess would be wrong more often than right. "Extraction" can mean a loose tooth that's out in minutes or a surgical removal of a tooth broken at the gum. The X-ray decides which one you have, and the price follows the X-ray, in writing.
Which insurance do you take?
PPO dental plans, including Aetna PPO, Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, and Guardian. We do not accept Medicaid or HMO plans; patients with that coverage are welcome as self-pay at the same $89 start.
What if I don't have insurance or can't pay it all at once?
The visit starts at $89 either way, and self-pay patients get the same care and the same chair. For larger treatment, CareCredit financing and in-house payment plans are available, and the front desk explains both before the work begins.
The visit itself
What happens when I arrive?
A few minutes of paperwork, then the exam and X-rays. Our dentist shows you what the X-ray found, explains it in plain language, and hands you a written price. If you say yes, treatment usually starts in the same chair. If you'd rather think, you leave with the diagnosis and the price and no pressure.
I'm terrified of the dentist. What can you do?
Say so on the phone. Oral sedation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or a combination of the two are available, and our dentist goes over what fits your treatment and health history before anything starts. Nobody here comments on how long it's been since your last visit.
Do you do the extraction or root canal here, or send me somewhere else?
Here. Simple and surgical extractions, root canals, abscess drainage, crowns, denture repairs: all in this office. Nothing on this site is referred out.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Our front desk speaks Spanish during office hours, and the Spanish side of this site begins at /es/. The call, the paperwork and the aftercare instructions can all be in Spanish.

Where exactly is the office?
2635 Lee Rd, Suite C1, Lithia Springs, GA 30122, in the Paradise Crossing shopping center on Lee Road, the one with the Publix, about three miles south of I-20 exit 41. Parking is outside the door. Directions from Douglasville, Austell and the rest of the area are on the contact page.
How far are you from Douglasville or Austell?
Douglasville is 10 to 12 minutes via Fairburn Road or I-20; Austell is 12 to 15 via Veterans Memorial Highway. The service area page lists drive times for Mableton, Powder Springs, Hiram, Villa Rica and South Fulton.
What should I bring?
A photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, a list of medications you take, and, if a tooth or crown came out, the tooth or crown itself in a little milk. Then call (770) 802-2220 so the chair is held before you leave.
