Emergency care is what this office is set up for. That's the difference between us and a general practice that squeezes an emergency between two cleanings: the schedule is built to absorb the tooth that broke at breakfast.
Why we ask you to call first
Walk-ins sound convenient until you're the third person in the waiting room with a throbbing molar. A phone call ahead does three things:
- It gets you a specific time instead of a wait.
- It lets the front desk ask what's wrong, so the right room and instruments are ready and anything urgent, like a knocked-out tooth, jumps the line.
- It lets us tell you honestly if what you're describing belongs in an emergency room first.
The number is answered by a real person at every hour, so "call first" never means "wait until morning to call."
What can be treated the same day
Almost everything on this site. Toothaches, extractions (simple and surgical), root canals, abscess drainage, broken tooth repair, lost fillings and crowns, wisdom teeth, and denture repairs. Where a permanent filling or crown can safely be placed in the same visit, it is. The only common exception is a spreading infection that sometimes needs a day of antibiotics before a tooth is treated, and you'd be told that on the spot with the plan in writing.
What the same-day visit costs
It starts at $89 for the exam and X-rays, same as any visit, with no emergency surcharge for being seen today. Treatment is quoted in writing after the X-ray, before anything begins. Our office is on Lee Road in the Publix center, three miles south of I-20 exit 41. That puts Douglasville 10 to 12 minutes away, Austell 12 to 15, Mableton and South Fulton about 20. Because the time is held, the drive is the only wait.

Monday through Thursday, usually yes; the office is open until 5:00 PM and the front desk will tell you plainly if there's a chair. On Friday the office closes at 1:00 PM, so an afternoon call is held the first Monday opening at 8:00 AM unless the front desk finds something sooner. Call (770) 802-2220 and ask.
Do you take new patients for same-day emergencies?
Yes. Most same-day patients are new to us. There's no separate process: bring a photo ID and an insurance card if you have one, arrive a few minutes early for paperwork, and the exam starts at your held time.
What if I just show up?
You'll be asked to call from the parking lot, and if there's an opening you'll be seen, but there may not be one. A two-minute call from home is faster and more reliable than a drive on hope. We say this on every page because it's true.
Can I be seen the same day for something that isn't an emergency?
Sometimes, if the schedule allows, but the held same-day times are for people in pain. If your problem can wait a day or two, say so on the phone and the front desk will find the soonest sensible appointment.
